Inspecting what's required and, sometimes, what's not The National Association of Home Inspectors, was established in 1987 as a nonprofit association to promote and develop the home inspection industry. NAHI's goals are to promote excellence and professionalism in the Home Inspection industry, provide a standards of practice and a code of ethics, to educate its members, and to inform the public of the benefits and scope of a professional home inspection. NAHI standards of practice are very conclusive and outline very well what is required and not required to be inspected. North Metro Home Inspection has adopted these standards. At the beginning of your inspection, we will ask you what your areas of importance are so that we can tailor your inspection to your needs. If you're unsure, your home inspector has checklists and tools to help define those areas. There are areas that, while not required to be inspected, may make sense for you to have inspected. For example, NAHI standards include inspection components, procedures, and limitations for attached garages. However, you may be considering a home specifically because there is an unattached pole barn or shed. We'll go take a look at that outbuilding for you at no additional charge. It's important for us to help acquaint you with as much information as possible before making your home-buying decision. |
